Five on Friday

So, I feel like all the posts I wrote this week were kinda random, and not really about anything I was doing. Today, I will change that! Welcome to the exciting world of Kat.

1: The first rehearsal for the dance piece I'm in is tonight.. I'm kinda really nervous. I'm not sure what to expect!

2: My dad let me order a pizza to his office, so obviously that is a HUGE highlight of my dad. I love pizza. AHASHDKajsldkj.

3: My boyfriend, my roommate and I all made dinner last night.. at 11:30 pm. We made orange chicken, rice, steamed dumplings and red lobster cheddar biscuits. Yeah, the biscuits might be a bit random but oh well, who's really judging?

4: I discovered that you can buy Soda Stream syrups that are meant to be cocktail mixes.. I'm not really using them as that but the Margarita mix is like carbonated lime juice and is AMAZING. The cosmo one is also pretty good!

5: I made the decision to suspend my Birch Box account and I'm kind of sad about it. I'll re-sub when I have the money but I'd rather use Ipsy since I think it's a better value. So I'm excited to see what my Graze Box and my Ipsy Bag have this month!

All in all, this week has been pretty tame. Mostly watching TV, and cuddling with my kittens.

Theres a picture of Zeus since I was very photo-lacking in this post.

Dots Swag

For Christmas, my roommate gave me a gift card she got that she didn't think she'd use. It was for a store called Dots.  Today, Jake and I went out to lunch together at CiCi's and I remembered I had the gift card to Dots! Dots is kind of like, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, etc. Just with a smaller selection.

I got soo many cute things for only 25 dollars! I noticed that Dots has a GREAT clearance section! The only down side is that the stuff I bought is way more summer appropriate, but oh well! Super cute, still!

I got this tank top for only $3!

I got this one for $3 as well!

$3!!! I told you it was an amazing clearance rack!

How much?! You guessed it.. $3!!!

Four shirts for $12 is amazing! I was shocked at how inexpensive everything was. I also got a couple other things!

I got these cute aviators for only a dollar!

I'm a sucker for lip products, so I actually grabbed two of these! $1.75 each!

I always need more eyeliner, and the leopard print caught my eye! What a cool little bottle! $3 as well!

I've been wanting to get some splatter nail polishes for awhile.. I just didn't want to spend the money on them! Nail polish was buy one get one , so these ended up being about $2 a piece.

Everything ended up being under 25! I think I did pretty well! :)

So, whats your favorite place to get great deals on clothes and other things?

January 2014 Graze Box AKA My First Graze Box!

I'm a sucker for subscription boxes... Usually, makeup ones catch my eye, but this time I subbed to a snack box! My friend posted a link on Facebook to get a free box, so I went for it! If anyone is interested, please comment and I'll send you my friend code to get the free box to try it.

So what is a Graze Box? Graze is a healthy snack subscription box that you can control how often you want it! I have mine set for monthly, but you can do every other week. One really cool this is you can look through the snacks they offer on the website, and 'trash' any ones that don't appeal to you, or if they don't follow your lifestyle (lactose intolerance, gluten free etc.). The only down fall about Graze is that they currently cant cater to anyone with a nut allergy... but they're working on that! I went through the site and rated some snacks, I also kept in mind that my boyfriend would probably be the main one Grazing, so I didn't set my dietary restriction on it. So the best thing about Graze is that it only costs you SIX dollars for every time you order! Why not try it?!

Awww, look how cute the packaging is!

Lets open up and see what's inside!

Four yummy and healthy snacks! But what kind of snacks are they?

Apple & Cinnamon Flapjack Bars!

Scrumptious Blueberry Swirl Fruit Mix

My Thai Soy Cakes with Sweet Chili Sauce

Bananas Foster Mix! (PS: Sorry for this HORRIBLE picture!)

I actually haven't tried anything yet since my family kinda took claims on everything in the box since nothing really jumped out for me to try it! I'm excited to see what the next box I get has in it! Theres this cookies and creme mix that looks heavenly that I would LOVE to try.

Viva Las Vegas!

Viva Las Vegas!

I don't know about you, but I love Las Vegas. I love the lights, and how it's warm there. I mean, I've only been once and I was barely even 11 at that point, so it's not like I really could experience everything that adults can have fun doing there!

Well, the whole point of this post is.. I'm going to Vegas this summer! My uncle wants my family to go see a concert out there, so we're going to be going sometime in May! I'm also really hoping I can bring Rachael with me! It's pretty much perfect timing because I become LEGAL on April 29th! :) This post is kind of sort of my dream list of places to go in Vegas!

The Neon Museum

I saw something about this place on TV once and I thought it looked like the coolest photo op ever! (I was also still considering a photography major at this point). It has a bunch of old neon signs from Vegas history! They offer guided tours during the day, and some during the night! I think the night tour would be amazing to go see the place all lit up!

I love mini golf, and I love Kiss! So this attraction sounds like so much fun! I can already tell my family would love this! I feel like its a pretty unique mini golf course, so that would be exciting!

I'm a huge thrill seeker, so this practically calling my name! I've always wanted to go real skydiving, but it's so expensive and it's kind of hard finding people who also want to go! Indoor Skydiving seems to calm people down in the price range and in the fear range! I hope I can go to this place when I'm in Vegas, or at least go at another location since it's not a popular activity in Ohio!

Doesn't that look gorgeous? I've always loved zoo's and aquariums so I feel like this would be a place I would not want to miss out on!

I've actually been here before, and was too scared to ride anything but the water ride! So I'd really like to go back and have some fun! I LOVE theme parks and amusement parks ( I did work at one for three years! ) so this is totally happening! In addition to this, I also want to go ride the stuff on top of the Stratosphere, and if that rollercoaster at the New York hotel is still there.

I really haven't decided what places I'd want to go out to for the birthday activities! I need to google what the unique cocktails to Vegas are, and some cool dining activities! I'm sure I'll also try and do a spa day and plenty of poolside days as well! Please leave any suggestions for fun activities, nightlife, or dining in Vegas for me!

January 2014 Ipsy Bag Review

January 2014 Ipsy Bag Review

Hi everyone! Welcome to my January 2014 Ipsy Bag Review! If you don't know what Ipsy is, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service. For 10 dollars a month (Yes, that includes shipping!) you can get at least five deluxe samples, or often full size beauty products right to your door step! You also get a really cute makeup bag every month, so... What are you waiting for? Use my link (it gets me points, so I can redeem for a bonus product!) right here!

Not gonna lie, when I previewed my bag online, I was kinda let down since I had gotten such an amazing bag the month before. When it arrived and I actually got to play with the products... I loved it and I will use everything I got!

I haven't gotten to use this deep conditioning mask yet, but it smells AMAZING. I'm so excited for when I do get to use it! I also go a really generous amount!

This face lotion also smelled amazing, and it made my face feel so soft! I also loved that it didn't make my face break out what so ever, and it was so lightweight! :)

This lip tint is great! The color is highly pigmented. I would recommend moisturizing your lips before you use it because it doesn't moisturize your lips at all!

This is an eyeshadow stick. It's pretty neat, and a nice shimmery color. I wish the application part was a bit bigger, but oh well! I still liked it!

Proactiv as always been a good product. They gave you 3 samples of this and I've only tried it once. I'll probably hand it off to someone else since I don't have a lot of skin problems.

Awful pic, but the lip color really does stand out!

Love the shadow stick! :)

I hope you enjoyed looking at my Ipsy Bag! I'll post mine next month with whatever goodies I got!

Kat Cooks: How to make Buffalo Chicken Strips

Hey Y'all! It's recipe time!

Buffalo Chicken Strips

Buffalo chicken is pretty much one of my most favorite things in the whole wide world to eat! However, I've never made them on my own! I really hate to deep fry anything since I always end up getting burnt, so I decided, why not oven bake them?

What You'll Need

Plain Bread Crumbs

Flour

Buttermilk

Eggs

Salt

Pepper

Garlic Powder

Fresh Chicken Breast Tenders

Buffalo Sauce of your Choice! (I used Yuengling's Wing Sauce!)

First things first, preheat your oven to 450 degrees!

Then, you have to mix up your bread crumb mix. Get a small bowl and mix up the bread crumbs, flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. You can also add any seasoning to your preferred taste. I added a little bit of cajun seasoning tonight when I made them.

Next, you're going to mix up the egg and buttermilk. Depending how much chicken you're making, you should only need one egg and a little less then a cup of buttermilk. Mix those up all nice together

Now, I'd recommend lightly spraying your pan with some oil so the chicken doesn't stick to it after it's done baking. After that, dip a tender in the egg and buttermilk mix, then dip it into the bread crumb mix and roll it around 'til its completely covered. Put that into your pan. Repeat this 'til all the chicken you could possibly want is all ready.

I had to make a little barrier since my dad wanted BBQ chicken ones instead! Pop them in the over for about 30 minutes. I always check on them through out that though!

After 30 minutes, take them on out!

Start pouring your sauce of choice on top of them, and after they're smothered, stick them back in the over for an additional 15 minutes, or until cooked all the way through!

Yay! Now you have quick and painless buffalo chicken tenders! Serve with what ever you're little heart desires! I also really need to lug out my good camera next time I do a recipe!

Let me know if you try it, any tweaks you have on it! I'd love to hear them! :)
